The following categories are open to all Goodrich children, from Nursery to Year 6. Enter as many categories as you like. Goodrich children can also enter any of the Adult categories. You will find rules for all the categories below.

1 · Miniature Gardens
A fabulous category. In case you have forgotten; create a garden in miniature. This could be in a crate, tin can, old boot anything you like and can carry easily. Your choice of theme, materials etc.

2 · Cress Heads – Carnival – Rio Olympics
It’s an Olympic year again. Let’s see your cress heads really having a good time and celebrating Brazilian style.
You will need a packet of cress seeds, cotton wool and something to grow your cress in. Traditionally this is an empty egg shell but you could use an empty yoghurt pot or any clean container you can decorate easily.

If using real egg shells:
Boil and eat your egg being very careful when you take off the top not to crack the rest of the shell.
Make sure the inside of the shell is clean and dry.
Decorate your egg using pens, paint, googly eyes, moustaches, pipe cleaner arms etc.
Very carefully push some damp cotton wool inside the shell and sow your seeds on top according to the seed packet.
Should take around seven days to start to grow so start this project a couple of weeks before show day.

3 · Fruit and Vegetable Characters – Jungle Book
Maybe you’ve seen the new film or love the book? Put together your character using fruit and veg and any other bits you need to hold them together. We look forward to seeing your sweet potato Shere Khan or your aubergine Akela.

4 · Photography – Tiny Olympics
Collect up your Playmobil, Lego and any other tiny little people living around your house and get them active in their own mini Olympics.
Print off a photo (maximum size 6”x 4”) Please use a sticker to put your name and class on the back. ONE PHOTO ENTRY ONLY

5 · Design – Street art
We are very lucky in East Dulwich to have so many examples of great street art on the sides of building and shops. Using the template attached to the entry form come up with your own design for a piece of public art. Two places to look for inspiration are the wall opposite The East Dulwich Tavern and on the side of the house at the very top of Barry Road. Google “street art East Dulwich” to see examples.

6 · Banana loaf
Using the recipe included make a delicious banana loaf and present it on a white plate. Great way to use up all those brown bananas!

7 · Handmade recycled item – Nursery/Rec/KS1
Make something using a toilet roll or rolls as a starting point. It can be anything you like from an animal to the Eiffel Tower. As always have a look at www.pinterest.com and then “toilet roll craft” for some good ideas.

8 · Handmade recycled item – Shoe Box
As above but using a shoe box as a starting point, it could be a world in a box or an aquarium. Again have a look at www.pinterest.com for ideas.
